I would throw the argument "Incredible claims require incredible proof" into the face of those who believe the alleged hoaxer's boast.
I mean, if he did do this, then he ought to be able to recreate it. He should be able to provide a total, accurate, repeat performance. Until that happens, it remains unsolved.
How many cranks and psychos call in taking credit for all manor of crimes? It reminds me of those old British drunks who tried to take credit for all of the agri-glyphs (aka "crop circles") that have been appearing for years all over the world. It appeased the general masses but those who take the time to actually do some personal research saw them for the liars they were. I suspect that this guy is a liar as well, and until he proves what he's claiming, I for one remain skeptical. The lights remain a mystery to me.

What was the point of showing that red balloon from the car dealership? Did it have a light and can it move in an intelligent manner. I seriously doubt it..

Dude, a neighbour, his wife and sons reported the hoaxer to the media. The hoaxer didn't come out until after he was approached by a news team. Didn't you see the video of the neighbor explaining what he saw a few homes away from the hoaxer? The hoaxer didn't want to be found but the jig was up....

*** The balloons were attached to each other by fishing line! IE: move in formation. Duh..

There were folks who were under the darn thing. They reported that it was a huge chevron shaped craft.

Just because some fool fesses up doesn't mean anything.
Remember the two idiots who said they created the worlds' crop circles with a plank and piece of rope?
And if he insists he did it then let him repeat it.

Ahh crap. To my post above- I was thinking of the original Phoenix lights.
Yeah, this may be fake, unfortunately.

If you want to tell me that when some american guy says that he made it then its 100% true then give me a break. Ill tell you something else. Im 100% sure he got nice money for telling his nice fake story ! And his neighbour too. If you are so sure that its so easy to do it and you even know how then go and do it, film it and post it ! And third time i will tell you that if those balloons were up there then why did FAA forbid air traffic controllers to tell what they saw ! Pretty logical eh ? Second thing that is logical is:,, Hey lets say its hoax and get nice cash."

WHY ARGUING? Please ask somebody to do the whole thing again, from the same place, around the same time, and video the event. That will solve the problem.
