Chinese Lanterns vs genuine UFOs

Im going to put this bluntly, many ufo sightings currently reported and filmed are simply chinese lanterns. Its a major problem for ufology because they make no sound, hover and they elevate with the wind.
The problems is in the Uk, USA and some other countries chinese lanterns are illegal due to the airspace risk and so when people actually see one flying they have no idea what they actually are and so automatically assume they are ufos.
The lanterns are quite large, fly silently and can be grouped with other lanterns.
From a distance it looks like they hover and when grouped together they can look like ufos.
They are very common in asia where people often let them off around new year.
Someone recently asked me why i didnt post the South Korea Ufo news report and the fact was that they were simply lanterns. Unlike other websites, we still want to keep the focus on more genuine sightings here at RealUfos. I could post "ufo videos" with lanterns in them everyday but i mean thats not the point of this website.
Just look at how easy it is to light and let go a chinese lanterns:

evidently you have never seen anything BUT chinese lanterns.people are not stupid to the point where they will write in or call in every little thing that moves in the air---just something unnatural that they do not see everyday.i say 95% of sightings are extraterrestrial.too many people are still in denial....keep your eyes to the skies...........

Im glad you are deciding to filter these sort of lantern vids. Frankly, I been checking this site less and less because it seemed like 1/2 were always easily explained as possible lanterns.

This is why it sucks to have so many night time sightings. Very good demonstration. However, we still have enough daytime orb sightings that indicate will still have a huge mystery unfolding.

I just thought of something else that could kick it up a notch. Conduct another demonstration like this one only this time anchor it with a few 100 feet of fishing line. The goal of course is to find out if the line is detectable or not. Also how long will it stay up in the sky.

Yeah! Well, we know all this!? but I can tell you this, our arrrrse, is sore from sitting on the fence all these years, watching Chinese lanterns, or CGIs,balloons, birds, bats, planes, shooting stars,meteoites,-,-,-,?-all of these can be called ufo.including the "real deal"..so what IS the real deal??.....

The people are not assuming that chinese lanterns are UFOs. They ARE UFOs since they don't know what they are and they are flying in the sky so in the strictest since of the def of a UFO, they are correct. It's just they are not alien spaceships.

I have never seen a chinese lantern; don't get them in my region, but I'm happy you have posted this, because it looks nothing like a real ufo sphere or "nuts&bolts" ufo. It just doesn't have the same feel, it seems lifeless. The real deal have energy generated lights and they move about so strangely unearthlike. It's strange that people would mistake it for a real ufo. I think one has to be more attentive, and not to asign "ufo" to everything they see flying about. Also some of the "ufos" are acutally ours...I don't rush to think every ufo is extraterrestrial. I think a lot is going on around our planet. Sneeky lot that we are ;-)

Thanks for posting this. I don't think you post videos that could be chinese lanterns. It's just clogging up the pipe.

And btw, to the 2nd poster "i say 95% of sightings are extraterrestrial"

Sorry but your a nutball."

I don't agree that 95% of sightings are ET; That's just a silly figure my friend. We may see planes/known terrestrial craft on a daily basis, but that doesn't mean every1's capable of identifying every known piece of machinery in the entire spectrum of earthly mechanical engineering that fly through our skies. If you look up "experimental military aircraft" on google you'll find hundreds of pics of machinery that'll make you say "WTF is that?" Only a very small %age of prople have access to knowledge/ any idea at all what kind of shit the military has flying around. W/that being said; calling the majority of UFOs Chinese lanterns is a MASSIVE cop-out. I've seen Chinese lanterns launched MAYBE twice my whole life, yet I've seen literally hundreds of lights in the sky that didn't fit the normal spectrum of conventional aircraft (only 1 time was I certain what I was seeing was otherworldly). I'd say about 3% of UFO sightings are lanterns, 5% flares (or something related), 37% RC/kites/floats/balloons/etc. 45% misinterpreted earthly aircraft, & around 5% of UFOs are of ET/alien origin.

So your saying south Korea shut down all aircraft coming in and out of a military bass because Of some Chinese lanterns ? I don't think so
