Filmers comments:
Southwestern sky not long after sunset. Somewhere south of Luray, VA. Bright stationary light, no strobes. Possibly an airplane but notice the airliner above its relative position in the sky that seems to overtake the light and move to the North (end of video). Not Venus. Feel free to debunk away. I'm no aircraft expert.

I live not far from Luray, and I can just visualize the general terrain and sky view of the poster. It IS a "strange light" in that it's the brightest thing up there, stationary, and definitely not Venus. It could be a non-conventional terrestrial craft, but the close-ups show something shaped rather like a child's top; I'm no expert either, but I know of nothing like that in the Air Force fleet. Very interesting film!
Thanks for posting it--

I think that's Jupiter that you are looking at. It's bright in the sky now, and should be about that far off the horizon around dark. http://earthsky.org/astronomy-essentials/visible-planets-tonight-mars-jupiter-venus-saturn-mercury
I think what you are seeing is Jupiter. The size, height off horizon, and brightness would be right if this was filmed shortly after dark. http://earthsky.org/astronomy-essentials/visible-planets-tonight-mars-jupiter-venus-saturn-mercury
If it is Jupiter it should still be there tomorrow night. Perhaps the poster could check that out?
