Ufo Experts in Tennessee - featuring Travis Walton - September 18, 2010

Just a quick invite for anyone in Tennessee to attend this months upcoming MUFON conference featuring Travis Walton from Fire in the Sky:

Nashville, TN – September 08, 2010 - Local officials of the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON), the world’s largest scientific UFO research organization, plan to hold a second conference in Murfreesboro, TN. The conference is open to the public, and will be held Saturday, September 18, 2010 from 9AM until 5PM at the Patterson Park Community Center.

According to state MUFON officials, 2010 has been a big year for UFOs in Tennessee. “We’ve been very fortunate this year.” says Alyson Burgess, MUFON Field Investigator and State Director of Public Relations. “Not only have we seen an increase in the number of sightings reported, but the quality of the reports has been improving by leaps and bounds. We’ve worked some very good cases in Tennessee this year and we’re very excited to present them to the public so that they can examine the evidence for themselves.”

Particularly important to Burgess is the opportunity to let Tennesseans know that they have someone credible to call if they spot something strange in the skies. “MUFON is a network of professionals” she explains. “We have some members who are doctors, lawyers, police officers, and educators, just to name a few. All our investigators are trained and certified, and have dedicated themselves to investigating these sightings using the scientific method. We take all our cases very seriously, because we feel that this is a legitimate subject that deserves to be examined using scientifically valid techniques.”

One of the highlights of this year’s event will be a presentation by Travis Walton, famed author, speaker, and subject of the 1993 blockbuster film “Fire in the Sky”. According to Burgess, Walton is at the center of one of the most documented cases of apparent extraterrestrial abduction in history, and will host a discussion of his experience as well as a question and answer session for those in attendance.

Tickets for the event are available online or at the door on the day of the event, and cost $15 for MUFON members, $20 for non-members, and $10 for students and military personnel with ID. Online ticketing and more information can be found on the Tennessee MUFON website at www.TNMUFON.com.

MUFON International is a 501 c 3 nonprofit research organization. Tennessee MUFON, headquartered in Memphis, conducts investigations of UFO sightings from all over the state, and works to educate the public on the facts and myths of the UFO phenomenon.
