Scientists cloak a large object in three dimensions

Quite sure this is old news but researchers have successfully cloaked a large object in 3D.
Its a significant achievement and brings to question if we humans can invent this technology then how many Ufos can we simply not see because its out of visible frequency (see below chart). Its another reason for Infrared filters when looking for Ufos in the sky.

Reporting in the New Journal of Physics, researchers at the University of Texas in Austin cloaked an 18-centimetre cylindrical tube from light in the microwave part of the energy spectrum.

Those hoping for a Harry Potter-style touch of wizardry would be disappointed. To the human eye, which can only perceive light in higher frequencies, no invisibility would have been seen.

But, say the researchers, the experiment is important proof of a principle that so-called plasmonic meta-materials can achieve a cloaking effect.

A warplane cloaked with such materials could achieve "super-stealth" status by becoming invisible in all directions to radar microwaves, said co-lead investigator Andrea Alu.

It brings to question if only a Small spectrum visible to the human eye then what else could there be out there we and organisations like SETI be missing? Ufos could simply shift their frequency and they could be right above us and we would have no idea!.

This remotely reminds me of the current movie out at the moment the Darkest Hour. (why is hollywood churning out so many invasion films?) The aliens are also basically invisible to humans, however anything electrical gives them away.

An interesting start, and useful...but still PRIMITIVE!

When the "visual" spectrum of light is masted, as well as the microwave, then THAT, is where it really gets stealthy & scary!

WHY? because how can you defend against something you can't see or even know is there or not.

Fascinating stuff. It was certainly being discussed by John Keel in 1970 in his book UFOs: Operation Trojan Horse and advances in human technology suggest he may have been on the right lines.
