Live cam reveals more lights above new york - but what are they?

Further images of lights were caught yesterday late at night over the skies of New York.
The question is just what are they? Ballons with lights, remote controlled lanterns?
IS there an easy way to explain them away, if its illegal to let them fly over the skies of New York why is someone defying this.. ?

This really just looks like the flight path for an airport to me.

Hello, I have just seen something pretty incredible in the night sky. I wanted to share it here. I had just wrote it out and then didn't realize that this comment window only allows a max of 4,096 characters. Unfortunately cut and paste isn't working for me, as my PC is having some problems. So I hope you don't mind, but I am going to have to post this to you in several parts which I am going to have to write out all over again.

I will name the parts

Part 1

I have just seen something incredible here in the UK. Okay firstly, I would like to say that when I was 15 years old. I saw a UFO which I believe to this day was from another world due to it's most incredible maneuverability. I felt back then and still to this day that there is nothing that could move like what I saw this UFO do. But you know maybe it was a top secret military craft of some sort. But I like to believe it was ET in origin.

Part 2

Anyway I just saw something strange in the night sky. Just got off the TV. I looked up to the sky through some windows in my house. I didn't open them as it's really cold here. I saw in the distance towards the end of my back garden this bright object. It wasn't reflections in the windows as it's late here and everyone is sleeping, all the lights are off except my hallway light. I was thinking that this bright object to be a star. But then I thought it's a bit low to be a star. This supposedly star near the tops of my trees right at the back of my garden. I hadn't ever seen stars around my house to appear too close to the tops of my trees that are right at the back of the garden. I was on the ground floor of my home. I could see the ground outside on my terrace that the moon is out and every thing is lit up. Then I looked back at this star and it appears to fade out. Then fade back to full brightness.

Part 3

I made a mistake I put part 3 at the end of Part 2, this is Part 3

I say to myself I know what just happened, a cloud must of passed over it causing the star to disappear (still in the same position) and then as the cloud passed, the star must of reappeared (same position) which means it never faded in/out it just seemed that way because of the cloud passing over it. Then it seemed like it moved, as for a while I did not see the star. I thought maybe a massive amount of clouds had covered it. So I waited for about 5 minutes and then I saw it again but now it seemed to be below the tree line. Then faded out again, I am moving my head around my windows to find the star again. I can't find it, after several minutes nearly giving up, I saw it again. Then it faded out again. I am thinking it can't be clouds again. But they could be as the cloud could be coming in from up in the sky downwards towards the ground. I then decided to rush upstairs and I saw it again but this time high up above the trees. Incredible bright, like when I saw it first downstairs.

Part 4

Now it's been about 5 minutes since I first noticed the light. After about 10 minutes of looking at it upstairs well within those 10 minutes I did notice some cloud passing by as it did fade out and back in again. Then it was strange, it appeared to slowly disappear and go down below the tops of the trees. I think to myself I got to see this again, so I go to my top floor. Then up there it's above the tree line again.

Part 5

This is normal the star isn't really going up. It just must of been higher in the sky when I first noticed it. But due to where I am in my house, depending on which floor it's like an optical illusion which makes it seem to appear to be lower in the sky due to the changes in perspective. But this doesn't explain it being able to seem to disappear. As this next bit is interesting. I decide to switch my room light on and off and then the star disappears for a second. I think a cloud passed it, but it's kind of a coincidence or is it that the star disappears just when I turn the lights on and off. After about 10 minutes here. it slowly seems to move below the tree line and again for a while I am moving my head about and cannot find this star and then I decide to make some rapid succession of turning the lights on and off and then I keep moving my head around the window trying to see if I will spot the star again. Then I see it for a few seconds and it's gone again. Then I find it again, then it's gone. Then a few minutes later I find it again. I now stood tall and extended my arm and index finger out and then positioned the tip of the finger (tip of the nail) to the top of my tree and looked to see how far down the star appears to be now on my extended finger. It appears at around 1.5 to 2 inches. About 25 minutes has gone by in total. I can no longer find it, I am tired of moving my head about. I went down one floor and could not see it through the window and down back to the ground floor and again could not see it. Then I came to write about it on here. Now do you know of any star that can move in like 20 minutes 1.5 to 2 inches? Using that measurement how many feet has the object moved in the sky? I thought stars don't hardly move as stars are suns which are millions or billions of miles away? I thought they move but they take hours to do so?

Ever since I saw my UFO sighting when I was 15 I have kept my eyes on the sky's ever since. I have seen many stars before just as bright as this one in the sky's above my home. I have seen them to appear to move like the star this evening. But I have never thought much about them as I feel that they are just stars. But now I am starting to not believe so. This evening, the sky seemed to be very clear on one side of my house with many stars none of them as bright as this unusual one. Then the other side of my house where I saw this light, it didn't seem as clear like it appeared to be cloudy and I saw a few stars in the distance, but they were all much higher than this unusual one and no where as bright as this unusual one. I used to have my camera ready but never really used to see anything that would make me want to get out the camera. I know it would take time to setup some tape, plug my camera into the mains as the last time I checked I didn't have any battery left on my camera. So I thought by the time I get my camera out I may miss all of what I am seeing. So I didn't bother with it. But please, if anyone has seen anything else like this, I would sure like to know what I am seeing?

It's airplanes. Nothing special. UFO make high performance manuevers or move miles very quickly. Lets see some of that eh.

Anonymous said...

that camera looks downtown, and those airplanes are all on their way to jfk airport because it is southern nassau county and the runways run west east.

The livecam lights in NYC are planes. You will see the plane lights on the NYC cams every night. Following the exact same trajectory. Some may appear to be hovering but this is not the case as the light is coming towards the web camera. Also these planes are miles and miles away from the cams which makes them to hard to see in day light. But watch the cams every night and you will not be long in making your own mind up although very exciting at first when i first watched.

Is this guy for real?...I think he's set a record!? Holly cow!?
I think, it's just a star,and as the Earth rotates,the star would
appear to have moved, in a given time. There are two bright stars in my night sky,and they never stay in one place.Go outside an hr.later or so, and there gone; just higher up!........

Anonymous said...

To the last poster, I am the guy that wrote about this sighting. Thanks for your opinion. I know that stars move, but I don't think I have seen a star move to a new position within 30 minutes and instead of the star being higher, this one was lower. I would really like to know what this was.

Anonymous said...

OK! I appreciate what you say,but if the star, you were looking at was low, near the horizon, then you
might have been looking in a westerly direction, would this be
correct?...if so,that would make alot of sense,in the rotation of the Earth, to bringing the star you were looking at, down to the weston horizon....Would that make sense?...Your judgement!.....
