Bright Ufo above Harpswell in Main 10th November 2010
This video was ilmed over Harpswell in Maine. Ok so we could be looking at a jet in the distance here, but the 2 lights seem to hover for some time. What are your thoughts on this one - plane or Ufo?

Well it depends on whether there is an airport just there on not.. I've seen incoming aircraft head-on a few times and their headlights look like one light until they are very close...

Many times,I have seen this kind
of view with incoming,high flying,
faraway aircraft.At first, it looks
like an aircraft,even as it descends, a bit fast I thought,for
a plane so faraway,as to what I'm
accustomed to seeing,but then on
descent,the right hand light dims
and THAT didn't look right!
What I would like to know is whether there was an airport some
where in the distance,behind those
beautiful trees!?...If NOT! why were the lights coming down?? so low behind the trees,with
no where to land!? Can only lead to
one or two conclusions!
The plane was in big trouble! or
Simply,it was a ufo!.......?

Jet coming straight at the camera.
Wow. I don't know if you were watching the same video as I am but it appears to move away near the halfway mark. Secondly, where is the sound coming from the jet? Is it a silent jet? Third I didn't see any strobing lights, as every jet I've ever seen has them. 4th if a jet were coming at you head on, the lights would appear to get larger, not smaller. Simple logic says this is something else. But hey, Wadda I know? I'm no aeronautical expert, but of this is a jet or a plane I'll attempt to train a shark to be my pointgaurd on my pick-up team

Number of airports in Maine. One near Harpswell - checked it on Google Earth. This is an aircraft on landing approach and it's getting slower and slower before going in to land. Flashing light are not always visible from the front. Two (large) landing lights block them out. Sound may be carried away by wind and not necessarily a jet, could be a prop. I have seen many real ufos and wish this were one too but it's not this time. Easy mistake to make. Keep looking you'll see real ones!
Definitely a jet on approach to a landing strip. The "moving away" that you might see (i.e. the lights getting 'smaller') are simply periods on the approach where the angle of approach is steeper, and thus does not aim towards the camera as much. Thus, the lights are not shining at us. In my old home town of Vegas, you could watch planes come in all night over Frenchman's Mountain with exactly this appearance, in long rows of 4-6 planes at a time.
