RealUfos would also like to hear from anyone reading who may have seen objects flying in the sky in europe during this no-fly period.

Could very well be the ISS and THe undocked STS-131. I actually thought it was Venus till it moved.

Me and my parner have also seen low on the horizon from Amsterdam

It surprised me this has been seen from the UK

you would think something that big and clear would be seen by more than just one person.

I was in Rotherham town centre on Saturday 17th April 2010, having a coffee outside with my daughter. It was 13.30hrs I was looking up at the extremely clear blue sky.... and a plane flew over. I said to my daughter "Look at that" and she said "What!" and then she said "Oh yes of course"
The plane looked silver in the sunlight and was higher than helicopters usually fly. It left me wondering what it was doing there if the air traffic wasn't allowed to fly.

1) what exactly about these objects are strange?
2) Are police, medical and military helicopters also grounded?

No fly zone for planes maybe. But don't forget that helicopters still can easily fly with ashes in the atmosphere (their engines are not sensitive to volcanic ashes). And looking at the speed and altitude of these white dots, I say these are indeed helicopters...

My parents seen a blue (military looking) jet fly overhead this past week (during the no-fly znoe period) in Cheshire, North West, UK. They also heard a brief burst of an air-raid siren :S... What do people make of this???

We sat on balconies and in Amsterdam (Holland)
and looked towards the North Sea
(UK) direction so we saw the couple minutes
and disappeared in seconds, like a fire arrow, but not more speed

Perhaps still the ISS? I do not know.

1st time I have ever been on a site like this, but on the morning of 18/4/10 whilst watching formula 1 on
the tv looked out of the window and see something high up it reflected the sun, I live in Sth woodford it was north west in the sky, I don't know what I saw, prised my husband away from Lewis Hamilton, he could not figure out what it was, it moved very slowly but was so high up, any ideas. Elaine

May well have been weather balloons for scientific purposes I mean it's not often we get an ash cloud over the UK or maybe elecrical particles. I doubt very much it was anything alien or unexplained.

I saw these too over Bexley SE London. They came across the sky in waves of two and three. Very bright and absolutely silent and moving quite quickly and seemed to disappear upwards. I certainly don't think they were aliens but they were very odd to watch. Chinese lanterns perhaps?

The whole time that our airspace was closed off I saw ufo's in my area, on the Saturday night, I went outside from just after 9pm(I enjoy looking at the night sky through my binoculars) I was outside for over 4 hours watching the sky, during that time, I saw over 10 strange lights( going in different directions, some moving fast and some moving slow)flying around our airspace, the same airspace we where told was closed off to air traffic. Either we really do have ufo's flying around monitoring us or our governments are carrying out some kind of experiment. I have seen to many ufo's in my area over the last few years and they are increasing. I have even taken pictures and shown to my friends and none of them can explain what they have seen in the pictures, I will upload them soon. San

I am always amazed how EVERYTHING that happens -- no matter how unique or mundane -- is quickly incorporated into the ever-advancing-but-never-accomplished decades-long super-secret conspiracy ... that every Tom, Dick and Harry just happens to know all about!
Shame!

We live in South Leeds. We returned home on the evening of 16th April at 10pm, after visiting friends. The sky was clear and cloudless. We saw two balls of what looked like burning flames. There was no noise from them. I thought it was debris from the volcano but my husband said it was too far away to produce debris of that size in our skies. Both 'objects' stayed the same distance apart as they travelled away from us. I am confident that the objects were low enough to discern that they weren't helicopters.
