A Northwestern BC resident was driving down Highway 37 near Lakelse Lake, July 21st 2012 at around 10:30pm. As he did, he witnessed these lights. The question is were they simply Chinese Lanterns? Your feedback appreciated..

I'd love to say lanterns, but the speed on these things is very fast! You can see there's not much wind by keeping any eye on the trees, no gusts there! Unless there was a local air show and a lot of planes were coming in, theses aren't lanterns.
They are not moving that fast. This film was taken at the bottom of a hill and protected by the wind above. There can be very strong winds 2-300 feet above, and very little at ground level. Besides one of the guys that let these go at the lake admitted it. They also have the same look as a Chinese lantern's and drift in the wind exactly like they should.
