This video was sent in by a reader and filmed in New York on January 1st 2013. I want to remind people, that New Years Eve is well known to be the time of fireworks, and also Chinese Lanterns... Was this video simply recording Lanterns floating in the skies, or something more? Your comments welcome please:

Im located in northern Califronia. Myself and 7 others saw orange orbs in the sky shortly after new years. They looked like orange balls ascending from the south and moving in a north easterly directing then faded out. Anyone know anything more?
What I seen here in michigan was too well maneuvered to be fireworks or a lantern which my city has never had any fly in lol.. I saw a UFO or a miltary secret..
me and everyone in the car with me saw it in orlando fl 4 different times through out the whole night on new years eve. we recorded it.
Saw one after another moving from south to northeast in the Philippines during New Years eve celebration. Caught it on video. Amazing how people from other parts of the world saw it too!
