Strange thing on Google Earth in Greenland

Hey guys, just a random post
If you have ever used google earth you probably know there are some weird places on it. This strange Object in the middle of Greenland is one that is commonly discussed. It probably just a camera glitch but at 80 kilometers long (50 miles) thats one big glitch!
What are your thoughts?

This isn't a camera glitch. It's an artifact from the method used to compile the images on Google Earth. The images aren't one solid image, they are satellite images, which are taken in scanned "strips" as the satellite(s) pass(es) over portions of the Earth. You know those strips of Mars pictures that everyone loves? Same thing. On Google Earth, the strips are taken and compiled to form one big complete map, based on the coordinates given with the original satellite data. But the pictures are taken at different times of the year, under different conditions. In some areas, you can see chunks of different weather. I've seen cities on Google Earth that have shadows being cast in six different directions, depending on what neighborhood you are in, or with weather that is cut of in neat blocks and rows. Or the color of the picture changes between strips abruptly, like in this one. Ever see what happens to white surfaces when you hit them with acutely angled sunlight? They reflect red-orange light. This is a strip taken at a different time of day, that's all.
