NASA's Galaxy Evolution Explorer is showing a speeding blue “star that is leaving an enormous trail of ‘seeds’ for new solar systems. The star, named Mira (pronounced my-rah) after the latin word for ‘wonderful,’ is shedding material that will be recycled into new stars, planets and possibly even life as it hurls through our galaxy.’
This is a great discovery on it’s own, but it becomes even more amazing when we read the news that the Hopi, Native Americans from northeastern Arizona, have foretold the coming of this star. The prophecy is as follows:
"And this is the Ninth and Last Sign: You will hear of a dwelling-place in the heavens, above the earth, that shall fall with a great crash. It will appear as a blue star. Very soon after this, the ceremonies of my people will cease." ... "That time is not far off. It will come when the Saquasohuh (Blue Star) Kachina dances in the plaza and removes his mask. He represents a blue star, far off and yet invisible, which will make its appearance soon."

I don't know how much longer I can tolerate the fear propaganda. I feel like throwing up. I feel like if I hear someone say that phrase ("It's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when.") one more time I'm going to smash something. It's completely out of control.

Just ran across this page while nosing for other details. Good thing the post subject has a question mark since the answer is "Obviously, no."
Mira has been known for at least some 400 years, so by itself it's not a recent discovery by NASA. And it's a (variable) red giant, so it shouldn't be thought of as a "blue star". (NASA's discovery was a few years before the post.)
What NASA discovered was that the material being ejected by Mira as it dies is tailing out in its wake as Mira moves through the galaxy. Nothing new about a star moving nor about a dying red giant ejecting surface material. What was new was that no one had been able to catch images of it happening in this way.
Some confusion might come from the ultraviolet imaging that showed the otherwise invisible trail of material in a bluish color.
But, OMG! It MUST be confirmation of a vague prophecy that has been interpreted in a specifically disastrous way! We're doomed!
