Everyone knows about the reported recovery of a crashed alien spaceship near Roswell, New Mexico in July 1947. However, most people are unaware that, at the time of the incident, Roswell Army Airfield was home to the world's only atomic bomber squadron, the 509th Bomb Group. Was this merely a coincidence? I can confirm I saw this 95% sure. the alleged time was 21h40. I went to a restaurant tonight and walked back home, by the time I got there, the time was 21h30. I rolled a cigarette and then smoked it at the window.
for me.. what I saw was nothing more than a Chinese Lantern, could see no trail, and had a yellow/redish color. It gradually loosed light intensity as would a lantern when it dies out. So I thought nothing of it.
However the timing was the same and I was looking towards the north.
( note that I am in Plymouth,Devon, South of England )
anybody from south of England see the same?
I saw it through my window in Edinburgh. I didn't think it was "unusually slow" for a meteorite. At first, I didn't know what it was because it was so large and bright, but after thinking about it I concluded it was a meteorite due to it's tail, which is what it turned out to be. It was pretty spectacular though, and I can see why some people phoned the police with fears that it was a burning plane. It seemed to be a lot lower and closer than it actually was.
There was also a meteor similar to this one in Victoria and Tasmania, Australia. Check it - http://news.ninemsn.com.au/technology/8429923/mystery-fireball-lights-up-sky-in-vic-tas
