I saw similar dual lights this week from Long Beach looking towards Orange County.
It was Saturday night and they seemed to move together and were slowly climbing. Eventually they blinked out. Seems to me they were flickering and orangey colored. To be truthful, I have to say my opinion is that they were 'chinese balloon lanterns'. Probably lit and sent aloft from an evening wedding reception.
Saw the same lights over granger IN on August 2nd for over an hour they would form patterns like different triangles line etc. then they would dissapears and then come up one by one over the horizon. Have several videos
We was the three lights in triangular formation Monday night over Mission Viejo at 9:35 pm. They were around for about 5-10 minutes then went up.
I saw the orange light and something that seemed to be attached to it on the 8th....it traveled from orange county and continued up the coast ( over the valley) during the day...very bright and at a high rate of speed
I saw something very similar in placentia on may 6 an 7. Multiple clusters of orange/red lights (absolutely not chinese lanterns), in groups of 2 to 6, traveling in formation. They were traveling at a decent rate but not too fast. They changed direction and there was something different about the light they emitted, couldnt put my finger on it. When they reached an exact point in the sky, they'd disappear/blink out . No strobes. On the night of 7/10/13 I heared a helicopter cruising by and I heard it come to a hover. It hovered for 10, 15 seconds begore I walked around a building to have a look. I turned the corner and saw the heli observing a single point of white light again with no strobe. They couldn't have been more than 100 feet from eachother. I observed the two stationary for about ten seconds when the light darted straight down a couple hundred feet, leveled off (unlike any aircraft I've ever seen do) and proceeded SW at a high rate of speed. Helicopter followed. Both incidents had multiple witnesses. I swear... If you look up on a regular basis, you'll be shocked at what you see! Eyes to the sky people.

I live in the city of orange, orange county california and me, my wife and 3 kids all saw the same lights around 10:15pm and they started off as 2 orange glowing balls and then a 3rd one comes up from behind out of nowhere, like it just blinked on. Then they formed a triangle and the formation kinda looked like it rotated. Then the one orange orb at the top of the triangle released something that would resemble fast burning flares. It did that a few times, and then the orange lights started to get smaller and dimmer until they blinked out. The whole time this was going on you had air traffic from john wayne airport going by and other airplanes flying right by this thing.
8/26/2013- approx. 3 am- i saw two lights hovering above Tustin/Orange California. UFO seemed like they were dropping some sort of lights. could possibly been other UFO. -
