One minor nitpick - Jets do not "hover" - nearby or otherwise.
If the jets hovering nearby, to the stationary UFO. IS TRUE!? Then what a birds eye view the Pilots would be getting!!..Wouldn't THAT make a cool report for the RealUFO readers!?
I mean,how close can you get,before your wings drop off,with these things, or your instruments on board, drop out,or go nuts.Makes me wonder if this UFO.is not one of ours,from the secret space program,so to speak! and the jets are just monitoring its progress..I wonder!............

Some times, things are possible!..You might like to consider what the: "Harrier Jump Jet" can do..then in your mind, modify it,and what would you have?:)..as time goes on,Who knows whats up there? but yes! most Jets don't hover!!..your right!..BUT!..What about Technologies we have yet, to discover!? LIKE UFO. & JETS that can hover!..What if! some part of UFO.
technology,was built into the Jet thus, making it lighter, and more efficient in hovering!
After all, UFO.are seen up there,:) so would we go bug-eyed, on seeing a JET HOVERING!
