If you live in the Homestead area we would like to hear if you also saw these strange lights.

"I walked out of my house on the way out to work when I noticed the lights on the general direction of Homestead air Force base. They were moving on different directions in a zig zag motion... really weird, definitely not an aircraft. Took a picture with my Iphone and ran inside the house to get a real camera, by the time I came back they were already gone... time elapsed was aprox. 30 secs." Rate this posting:

I live by the Homestead Air Base and I was on my bus on the way to school and I saw these same light! Didn't think anyone would catch it on camera... :/ pretty scary. (It was NOT an aircraft usually seen above the air base.)
I saw what you saw also. This past Thursday morning. Those lights were moving independently from each other and coming in and out until they disappeared. I have no idea what they were.
Do we have any idea which Homestead this is (there are several)? If it's Homestead in Florida, http://www.skydivemiami.com/ is based at the airport: a night-time skydive would fit that footage very well.

Chinese lantern? What are you? Debunker? To me, looks like sky diving with light mounted on each of jumper.
In my 10 years military and civilian law enforcement experience, I have seen and even launched ground to air military grade flares and seen up closed and personal several helicopter and conventional airplane high intensity magnesium flare drops. This event looks like flares if it would'nt have been droped from a single massive star-like object that decsended with a tail as a meteorite would, and then divided into 8 elongated smaller objects. Weird. Never seen a flare been droped that way. I think is a good thing to have someone investigate this event. I checked for falling meteorites on February 16 2012 and the nearest to us was a meteorite at Clearwater, Florida. No were near us. Retired Infantryman in Homestead, Florida.

Homestead is the winter home to the Army Golden Knights Skydiving teams, and this was a training jump with flares... them move and change as the jumpers fly the parachutes..
It was the US Military Special Operations Command (Green Berets) doing a night time Parachute Jump! Sorry to disappoint you all! I saw this on their Facebook Page. They have the photos posted on their web site.
